I need a new mast step for my 81 hunter 22. I just took it off and looked at it and it is in rough shape. Does anyone know where to get one or do I need to get a new mast and mast step. Although getting a new mast wouldnt be a bad Idea I really cant afford it right now

Rig-rite?

Many if not most 70's and early 80's Hunters used Kenyon spars. And Rig-Rite still can supply those. On their website I see the spars but not the mast steps. So maybe a call to them? A friend bought a solid piece of aluminum at a salvage yard and had another friend machine it to shape. So that is another possibility.

Kenyon Web Page

http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/Kenyon_Spars/kenyon.html#Cruising%20Sections I alway have these web pages listed. You never know when you need them (I hope I don't). You might need to do a little searching, but every part is there. No prices, you have to call.

Im from Indy, never sailed Monroe. Afraid of all the drunk teenagers I guess. Lots of time on Eagle Creek in a daysailer though and we have a slip in Brookville.

Lake Monroe

Lake Monroe is so big that I have never had that problem. There are plenty of buoys at Lake Monroe Sailing Association (an all sailboat marina) on the east side of the lake, but the slips has a waiting list. I once considered Brookville, but that low highway bridge that cuts the lake in half sort of stop me from thinking about it any further. (33 foot mast)
