I own a 80 H33 and am looking for a new Plexiglass hatch lid the original has become broken around the screw holes holding it to the stop. Does anyone have any direction for me to start my search?

www.pompanette.com has replacement hatches for Gray and Bowmar (and others). Find out what you need and then place an order with them or, I hear, that Boat/US special order desk will give you a better price (if you are a member).

Ordering a Hatch Cover

Paul's advice is right on. I just ordered a new hatch cover. I called these people, told them what I needed and they gave me a part number and a price. They then recommended that I call either WEST or BOATUS to place the order where I would be able to get a much better price. They were right. The price the gal at Bomar quoted was $400 something and the price quoted by WEST was $280 something. The downside to the transaction is that there is a five week delay in getting one. I guess they are custom made when the order is placed. Good Luck. Oh, as a sideline, I was able to fix my old one, which by the way was in five pieces, with epoxy. Not pretty but I think it will hold until the new one arrives.

special order

I had to replace the hatch cover on my last hunter and I just ended up ordering one from a plactic company in St. Pete FLA. I just measured the old one (the plastic part only, including the thickness) and ordered it over the phone. It was a bit smaller than the one on my 33 and it cost over a $100. I had to drill the holes and do some finish work but I got a SOLID hatch cover in the tint of my choice for a fair price.
