Probably a custom job

You do not mention the year of your boat but I will assume all of them are like our 82 and have the inconvient split back stays. In previous discussions on this site as well a those over beer in the cockpit, the consensus is a two part bimini that you would have to join at the stays. The supports might be available off the shelf but the canvas work would have to be made to specs. Andy "Baroque"

Holes

Guys, don't know if this is relevant, or unique, but the bimini on my split-backstay h23 has two holes in it for the wires. Of course, you have to disconnect the backstays to remove the bimini, but that's not much problem with my boat, with shrouds aft. Kinda handy, the backstay wires support the bimini when it's folded up and not in use. The bimini cover has two slits that go around the wires, then snap back up. A P.O. had it made by a place in Tulsa. Don't know if this means anything to anybody, just thought I'd offer it. I'm sure a 27 is a whole 'nother animal. Mac

contact the HOW Store.

Gary: Contact the friendly folks at the HOW store. They make a semi custom bimini that can be fitted around the split backstay. They are NOT cheap, but they are NOT cheaply built either. A fellow sailor just purchased one from HOW and it looks quite custom made.

I Have A Used One

Because I've just replaced all the canvas on my boat. BUT, mine is a H30 1977. I have the dodger, the sail cover, the bimini, a connector panel, and all the SS and alum frames it came with. Everything is that bright blue you always see on boats. Most everything needs some seam repair etc, but not rotted, it was servicable when I removed it. My wife didn't like the color, and we were renewing sails anyway. (Oh yeah, I have those too). My plan is to take them to one of those marina yard sales at Oriental when I get time, but I'd gladly consider letting you take a look whenever you come south.

Modify one

I took one off a trashed power boat and modified it...You will need make two cuts for the aft split stay and sew in two zippers. Once you dry-fit the bimini it is easy to see where to make the cuts for the stays...It is not to hard if you can use a sewing machine...I got the UV thread and zippers from a local canvas guy...

Options.

For the backstay splits it is much easier to sew in velcro than zippers. My Sailrite(home built) bimini is six summers old and the velcro around the backstay is good as new. Island Nautical is having a 15% off sale right now. They used to be here on HOW, not sure why the change. But if price is an issue you need to write for a quote. They have the exact pattern for all the Cherubinis. I have a 1979 IN dodger that is still serviceable. ( mail@islandnauticalcanvas.com )
