You must have been in a catamaran, or a shoal draft boat because if you were where i think you were, that is only about 3-4 ft deep...
We were in a 54' Jenneau. "The Sophisticated Lady" Capt Rick. Great boat and he's a hell of a lot of fun to be with.
We were on the right side when facing towards shore. Way in past The Last Resort and almost to the docks. I remember it being about 8' deep there. Only thing was the wakes of the launches going in and out but I was used to it and it didn't bug me at all.
Learned a ton about sailing that week. We even beat the pants off a racing cat going from Anegada to Jost. Won a round of drinks on that race. My big mouth after a few Painkillers spouted off "hey Capt Rick, why dont we race your friend over to Jost." While we were sailing Capt Rick turned to me and said next time pick on a slower boat. We won anyway which was a testament to Ricks sailing prowess.
Man what a great memory and wish I was back there right now. Ain't nothing like it in the whole wide world.
