Can anyone recommend an outfit in the NE to rebuild my Navtec hydraulic backstay adjuster? I do not care as much about price than I do about quality and turnaround time. Thanks Tim R.

Is it dead?

Tim can you still sail or are you out of commission? The more pertinent question is are we racing Wednesday night?? Let me know what I can do to help!

Dead

The good news and bad. After running the engine Kathy noticed an oil sheen on the water at the transom this weekend and I immediately thought head gasket. I then grabbed the backstay to look over the transom and she was all floppy. Gauge read 0 KPSI. Tried pumping and was able get to 1000 KPSI but I could see the oil leaking through the top seal. I rigged up the main halyard to keep some tension on the back of the mast and we motored home yesterday from Linekin bay which was quite bumpy but would have been a great sail. I will hit Hamilton's and WM today to get parts to rig up something to tension the backstay while I send the unit out for repair. So we will wait and see about racing this week. I will let you know. BTW, I have a funny anchoring story for you from this weekend. Maybe I will add it to your anchoring thread so I can get flamed for being inconsiderate! And thanks for the list. I saw those on Navtec's website. I was hoping someone here had any first hand experience. Tim R.

I like Kevin

I like Kevin at NE Rigging but I also hear very good things about Maloney.
