Navpod

I was removing my chartplotter yesterday and the plug, which was on its way out anyway, broke. I ordered a new cable and will be taking apart my Navpod to rewire it next week. Does anyone have manual for the Navpod?? Mine is the GP140, I believe. I searched all over the net but just keep coming up with distributors' sites, not the manufacturer. I would just like to make sure that the Tamperpruf wrenches I also ordered are the correct ones for that model and have a manual nearby if any issues arise. Who makes them, anyway??

Do you really have a security problem? Their wrench is a pain in the ass and you have to keep track of it. I replaced the navpod screws with "normal" ones. I also found that the navpod "flexes" with any amount of torque on the screws so be sure your gaskets "work".

Did you look in your nav station down below. My special Allen wrench's for my nav pod are alway keeps stored there along with the special one for the hatch hinge's. "ITS THE LAW"

Even called the PO and he never remembers having one. The're relatively inexpensive and the kit comes with a few different lengths/styles to get around the pedestal guard and the like so I don't mind buying them. My only concern will be how I will find this power cable tied in once I open it up. It will either be very easy or a complete mess! I'm going to bet on the worst!!!

I've been able to find bits in hardware stores, I believe they are Torx heads.

they are "security" torx head-with a hole in the center so a regular torx won't work. However, I've found a small flat head screwdriver blade-like a 1/8", works fine! so much for security!

As Chuckwayne said just use small flat blade to remove and replace with phlips screw that's what I did and manual for the navpod or chartplotter,just take nav pod apart all wiring is inside and info and manual is on Ray web site,pretty simple wires inside no brainer.
Don't understand what plug.

The Tamperpruf's are enroute so that's not going to be a problem. The plug is my Garmin chartplotter plug which is wired into the Navpod. I'm just replacing that since the actual plug broke. My curiosity is how the PPO wired it inside since it is not integrated into the Navpod. I gurss I will see when I open it up!! I just always like to have the manual nearby just in case I run into an issue which is why I was trying to find it. I have the manual for everything on the boat....except that!!
