Navpod viewing angle

I have, what I would assume is, your typical Navpod set up. It's great when you are standing at the helm. However, if I decide to sit for awhile I can not read the chart plotter. I'm looking for ideas or successful modifications that permit you to tilt the screen so it can be read from different angles.

When seated I occasionally look at my phone or iPad which run Raymarine Remote mostly I look at the sails and forward

Check your user guide for a viewing angle adjustment. Our Autohelm ST50 has a feature that lets you adjust the viewing angle for standing or sitting.

I believe I have a similar pod, but our Garmin screen is quite readable to about 80 degrees when reclining on the side benches and from a seated position, though the blue depth colors are lost when I'm sitting or far off to the side. The course line, the speed, course, Xtrak, Eta and way point (if in range) are easily seen, also.

I have a smaller main console - and it points up where I can see it while seated.

never mind the viewing angle, somebody come up with a screen that can be seen in sunlight and that doesn't go black when viewing through polarized sunglasses.

Those Navpods are nice, if you can afford an arm and a leg, plus they are not adjustable. I decided to mount my SH chartplotter using it's own adjustable base. I am going to make a base that clamps to the guard out of Starboard so the Chartplotter will mount to it. That way I can adjust the angle and have the option to remove it and take it with me.
