I just purchased a new Navpod GP240 4 face "uncut" instrument holder. Is uncut the way to go and how hard is it to cut the vinyl away. I have not opened the box yet to look it over. Should I return and order the pre-cut face? I plan on adding ST60 units and autohelm. Greg W.

Navpod

I bought it uncut and installed the Navman instruments. I used a hole saw and measured ten times before I cut. I had the three instrument Pod so after I found center I measured so the instrument face would fit side by side with the same clearence on each side.

Just cut it with a hole saw

Greg: I just cut some new holes with a 3.5" hole saw. It made perfect holes. If yours are vinyl you should be able to either use a hole saw or cut them with a utility knief. Use the gasket as your guide. The most difficult part is locating the centers if your pod is for multiple instruments.

No Pre-cut available?

In checking West Marine's catalog tonight, I do not see any pre-cut navpods except for the larger GPS units! Maybe this is why I received an uncut navpod. I will also check with Ocean Equipment to find out if this is indeed true. Greg W.

Cut !!!!

Go for the cut version the plastic tends to melt if you don't cut it right!
