I was just looking online at chartplotters and saw that the Navman 5500i has a $175 dollar rebate. I had been looking at the Standard Horizion, but a $175 rebate is very tempting. Anyone have any experience with the Navman? Any problems?

Navman is good
We had a Navman 5600 on our 410. Fantastic. Wouldn't be without one now. Now we have a trailer sailer and it has a Navman 950 which is an earlier model but the same screen size as the 5500i but horizontal instead of vertical. It's okay, but I'd go for the bigger size every time. Happy sailing. Bing

I have the Navman sailing instruments (depth, speed,wind dir & vel) and they are great. If their GPS plotter is half as good as these, it is a bargain!

5500 vs 5600
I think the 5500 has a smaller display but otherwise same as 5600. I have the 5600 and very happy with it. It occassionally lose track of the satellite signals but since this is my first chart plotter, I can't tell you whether others would do the same. I can read it easily under cover of the bimini even in the brightest sunny day.
