Just had my navman wind 3100 lcd fixed (beautiful work and crazy inexpensive prices. Indigo Electronis). But...I get no data. The b&g auto pilot will not even power up and the chart plotter cant ever acquire a gps coord (very old units). Does the wind indicator run through these other systems, and not display data because those systems are clearly non responsive? Or is it more likely to be a problem up top in the mast equip? The real Question is that does the wind instrument data feed through the auto pilot and or chart plotter? or is it fed direct from the top?
feel free to offer starting fresh recommendations. I’m going to replace it all but I enjoy sailing with working wind instruments.
