Hi Alan,Don't know about down your way, but up here we check with the local clubs. They almost always have some type of class going on weekends during the off-season. We just had both Coastal Nav and Advanced Nav at our club this winter.Not much, but it's a start.Cheers,Bob

Check your local US Power Squadron

I just attended the US Power Squadron "Boat Smart" course. Our local chapter changed it's name to the "Sailing & Power Squadron" because over 50% of the members are sailboat owners. They offer free navigation courses (but you have to be a member). Annual dues are about $75 total for both local and national organizations. I'm going to join next month.Jim Cook "Dream Chaser"

If you really want to learn navigation I suggest Mystic Safe Boating in Noank, Ct. I just finished the captains license course and the navigation portion was excellent learned a lot especially the errors of my ways. To top it off you can get a coast guard six pack or masters license but you'll need some documented experience first.good luckdave

There are two navigation courses they offer that can be attended by the public. Become a member and get even more training.

Check the Milford Schools Adult Ed Flyer

Bob Reeves owns a company called Sound Navigation and offers both Basic and Advanced classes. Reeves is an avid sailor and knows his stuff. His courses are excellent. They're given in the Milford School System Adult Ed Program.
