To the usual suspects with Mac 26 (d,s,c)'s

While I am in to the DC electrical system and wiring on my '88 26d I had a question re: the stock Nav. lights installed on the boat and any additions (or not) to sail after dark. I have read Don Casey's paper on the regs. and it is not clear to me if our mast light is even necessary at all or if further lighting would even be necessary for night sailing. My boat has all the original Nav. lights still in place. What is your understanding of this issue?

Canada regs require a 360 mast head white light at night if moored out. If moving at night then the usual 360 degs of white red green.
for my night mooring I installed a garden path light at the mast head which self charges during the day light and lights up during darkeness. Cheap and doesn't run the main batts down.
