I had the cable from the control head to the motor replaced recently to restore power in the system, but the repair seems to have eliminated the memory for settings I have always been able to count on. Now I cannot press either starboard or port buttons after making a heading with the set key and get either a 1 degree or 10 degree adjustment to the heading. The motor simply keeps on turning. On the 10 degree adjustment, the two beeps do not sound. Is there some way to restore the memory in the control head? If not, does anyone have a spare Navico Wheellpilot 5000 to sell? Or does anyone know of a marine electronics firm that can make such repairs?
