I am unable to locate a replacement bulb for the bi-color navigation light on the bow (West Marine does not carry them) of my 1979 Hunter Cherubini cutter. I do not know if it is original equipment or not. I found one in a bin in a San Diego chandelry six months ago, but have never been able to find others. I checked the forum archives and could find nothing. The bulb has an odd offset side post for locking(at different heights) and two tips that make contact in the bottom of the socket. The side of the bulb says ZP-Radium Germany and is labeled as 12V 25W, has an anchor symbol, followed by D 1002 and then what looks like c7. In very small print on the side is 1225u Does anyone know of a mail order/internet chandelry that might have these so I won't have to replace the entire light and bracket? Thanks Sanders

West Marine has them

I've replaced mine with one from West Marine. It is classified as a double-contact bayonet (I think - spelling may be off). The description you supplied in your post matches what I have on my 37c (two contacts, locking stubs on both sides but different height), so you should have no problem.

Aqua Signal

The bow bi-colour & stern lights should be Aqua Signal Series 40 - should be able to get bulbs anywhere Aqua Signal is sold. (German-made=good quality but expensive)

Bulb replacement

I had a hard time finding a replacement bulb due to the offset, but finally got one at Fawcett's in Annapolis, MD at a reasonable price ($3.95). It is a 12v 22W)

Thanks guys - found 'em

Sure enough, despite what the West Marine guy said before, when I fed him the numbers you provided (Aqua Signal series 40) he came up with a bulb that worked. Next step, to order spares from the less expensive source in Maryland. Thanks Sanders
