Does anyone have the conversion of a United States chart in miles or nautical miles? Example: 1/4" on the map = 1 mile. Many moons ago I had it written down somewhere and I don't have the Chart #1 with symbols and terms anymore. Thanks BOB PS: It helps when I'm with a non-sailor

Chart Scale

The length of a SM or NM will vary with chart scale. The easiest thing to remember is one minute of latitude is equal to one NM or 1.15 SM.
