Right up to the time one of your hoses breaks and you get a fairly large leak.
Bilge pumps don't consume much power AT ALL! Those things don't work unless you are tied to a dock (with shore power presumably)

I certainly would not have one as my sole source of pumping the bilge and if you are only supplementing then what is the point?

I don't believe that the accordion plastic will last long especially being in the sun for that long. It appears to be an innovative idea though.

Solar charging your batteries to power your bilge pump is also a nature powerd bilge pump :)

Our slip is in a well protected area with very little wave. That thing would not work for me.

Keep the bilge bone dry for, no need to pump. Install a PSS shaft seal and fix all leaks.
