I have a 92 Hunter and a stove that runs off a c.n.g. cylinder (looks like a scuba tank) but can't find a reasonable way to get gas to see if the stove works. Wonder if anyone has solved this little delima. Seems most all the distributors are gone. Has anybody converted this stove or found away to get gas without going to a CNG Distributor?

CNG dificult to find

We had the same problem in the Montreal area. All distributors were gone, until I heard of one company running school buses on CNG. They charge only 1.00$ to fill a thank to 2500 psi ! Maybe it is a good thing to keep looking for a potential supplier. CNG is inexpensive and probably safer than LPG.

CNG Fill Up

I must be lucky. The marina where I have my boat has an exchange program where you bring in your old tank and they give you a filled tank for $15.00. Good deal. For you other folks that can't find a place to fill up, I am looking for a spare tank!

Try this

Try www.corpbrothers.com Apparently they can ship tanks to you. Fortunately for me, the Providence shop is about 10 minutes from my house. Also, if it's a SAFEGAS brand, they have a conversion kit to switch to propane. But then you will have to store your tank outside the salon, run the hose, get a gas "sniffer" and auto shut off, and also an electronic solenoid switch for the tank. There are also kits to do this. Viva la CNG!

Save the CNG suppliers! I cannot understand the apparent coming extinction of CNG. I would not trade mine for all the alcohol, kerosene, or propane stoves I have used and do not know why there is not more demand for it. When I lost a previous dealer I used the corp bros based in New England that Paul mentioned (I found it on the net based on info that I found in this forum) and located a local dealer on their web page. Good luck.
