Does anybody have a recommendation for the best cruising guide to Narragansett Bay, one that combines charts with current land-based info? There are a number available. Thanks.

I bought the updated version in Newport at the September show. It's now a combined pub for the New England area. It is my 3rd version that I bought because it is my home cruising grounds. Great book and info (practical and historical)! Cost is about $45. But can be $125 w/New England Chart Kit wich include nav software for the computer.

I don't think you would get a combo cruising guide with charts. I would definitely recommend the above titled cruising guide published by McGraw Hill - Lynda Morris Childress is the first listed author. The book is very thorough with both subjective and objective info on virtually every destination in the region. The book with a good set of charts is all you need. Charts are in the book but really just for reference. Rob

I second Rob's suggestion

I also have this book and it is very good. You will still need separate charts, but you have those anyway, right?
