The picture above is a display on my Hunter 420 (built 2000) which shows the status of the boat's starter and house batteries and also whether the inverter is on or off. Its size is about 4"x2". It stopped working when all batteries died but it did not restart once all batteries were brought back to life.

I also understand that Heart Interface is no longer in business and that panels which look this on my boat (and now made by Xandrex) have panels that look exactly like mine are huge, 17"x10" or so.

So now my question is, if the one shown, is found not to be operable, where do I find one to replace it and same dimensions? Is there anyone who deals in used items such as this?

I would buy a remote panel, battery status and inverter charger remote control compatible with your inverter/charger. What inverter/charger manufacturer and model do you have? It looks exactly like this one Xantrex - Xantrex Heart FDM-12-25 Remote Panel, Battery Status & Freedom Inverter/Charger Remote Control #11-10850 (marine.com).

The Xandez item is very large and no way fits where my Heart Inverter fits. I know the size of mine but not the model number.

I have my old one that was working, before I switched to the new Xanbus size.
But I thought Xantrex still supplied the older style.

Are you sure?
You have to make sure your HOUSE Batteries are above 10.9 VDC and are select to the ON position and then hit RESET on your Freedom 20 ICG.

I freaked the first time mine did that.

PS: My H430 1999 has same installed items and that Heart interface does NOT monitor your start battery.

Hmm. The panel that sail sfbay linked to looks like it is 5-3/4 x 3-3/4 for a 4-7/8 x 2-7/8 cutout. Looks pretty much like the size you are looking for.
