Mystery Sail

In my constant quest for parts, I visited my favorite salvage yard today, and came away with the following ( all for a Cal34) :
Main sail: Luff (34,8) Foot (13,2) Leech (32,7)
Storm Sail: Luff (15) Foot (10,2) Leech (21,9)
And then a mystery sil, like a blue sausage casing, about 35 feet long.
I looked inside most cautiously and saw that there is an attachment on one end that says" Leech, Luff"
At the other end it has a similar attachment, and it says: "Foot"
What the devil is this I stumbled on?
And from the above sizes, could I use it in my H33?
They are all new, I don't think they have been used at all

Sam, if you read this, I found, I think, what you were looking for: I didn't have my camera with me, this was an unexpected visit: my pilgrimage resumes on Friday; 10 more boats in the yard, I am licking my chops already

Very curious to see what it is, the sausage set up
By the way, I pulled out from sailrite.com the specs for Cal 34, but I see I am slightly out in th3e measurements of the main sail; it does not show on the website the size of the storm jib, like in the Hunter specifications

I said I would be back with more questions...some vey nice winches just came in with the boats...

Your P and E are 37' 1" and 10' 9" so that main will not fit, the foot is too long and the luff is too short. There is something wrong with your measurements also. The leech cannot be shorter than the luff.

The "blue sausage" is likely a spinnaker or gennaker snuffer. Also called a sleeve or sock. See this link: http://www.atninc.com/sleeve_en.php

Sound like you are having a lot of fun.

Does your salvage yard have a name and telephone number and somebody I could talk to? I would love to find a small Barient #19 Self-Tailing winch to replace my non-self tailing on the starboard side cabin top. The mounting holes are likely to be the same as the standard non ST Barient 18.

I would have match with the existing Barient #19 o the port side. And the price would be right I think (hope)!

I saw the video, that sock looks awesome. Neat liitle device it is!
Of course, it will be a long time before I venture a spinaker, have to find my sea legs first, and be adventurous later
