Look on the outside of the 380 hull, just below the midships cleat on the starboard side. Is there a port? On my boat(hull #524) the answer is,"Yes." Now go down inside the boat and find that port. Nope, no port there. What is the deal?

Starboard Port?

Larry, I am assuming you are taking about the thru-hull fitting above the water line. On our 376 we have(2)of them exactly where you are describing. (1) is for the water out circuit for our Adler Barber refrigeration. (2) is for the water out for our reverse cycle heat pump. More than likely, if you have either, that will be your answer. I think they are located under your joinery work that is a shelf above your dinette seat on the interior starboard side. We have a small nook in the corner that we can remove and get access to this area. No water will run from this port unless a)you open the seacock that provides inflow to the unit; and, b) you must have the red switch turned on for refrig; or, reverse cycle compressor is running! Can't see out

When we were looking at the 376 there was a port in the galley with a shelf between two cabinets, when we got our 380 there is a cabinet door over the port and we have three cabinets and no window. As you noticed they still have the port cut out on the outside. Must be easier to keep the external port in the hull than change there mold. Andy Hansom S/V Vanishing Point

invisible ports

It's the same on the Passage 42. There are ports on the hull that are not inside. They are through to the interior on the 430 which had the same hull, while othere that areall the way on the 42 are blocked on the 430. Keeps the hull mold costs down. bw
