mystery leak

When I went to my boat this spring, I discovered that the starboard floorboard in the aft cabin had begun to turn dark on the 3 inches adjacent to the removable center section. Upon taking it out, I discovered that it was all wet and also that the engine bilge had some water in it even though the boat has been out of the water. There obviously is a leak somewhere but the source is not at all obvious. Has anyone discovered a similar problem? Since nothing is obviously wet above this area I would suspect that perhaps the extrusion that holds the plastic companionway hatch boards may need to be rebeded??

leak

Bill, you could contact the Hunter factory in Alachua,Fla tel 904-462-3077.I toured their factory two weeks ago-two times on my vacation trip around Fla. The Hunter people seem very concerned for customer satisfaction. This attitude may lead me to purchase a H-38 in the near furture.

Had the same problem

Bill On my 95 37.5 I had the same problem and tracked it down to one of the screws that holds the campanion way extrusion down. I had to rebed it. So your right on. Bob

Same here

This is the first year my boat has been out of the water in five years (to let the bottom dry out, for repainting) I have the same problem with my floorboard. (you are referring to the raise little one?) Last weekend it was raining and I was checking for leaks and found it coming from where the wiring comes in from the pedestal under the removable cockpit sole. Looking in the tank locker I could follow it under the bunk and out adjacent the stained floor board. This weekend its "leak no more" (that if it ever stops raining here....) Hope this helps you too

I think you are right !

I've noticed that I'm getting a leak in the aluminum extrusion during a heavy rain. Water is dripping on the floor and puddling around the door to the aft cabin. Rebedding the extrusion is on my to-do list.
