I picked up some mylar sails that were made for a sr max 21.. they fit nice nice on my 23.5. The headsail is a genoa 140%.. and the main is partial batten with a full batten at the top also has a loose foot. I put them on the boat to see how they fit and after seeing how nicely they fit i just had to go out for a sail. I was amazed at how differently the boat handled. Seemed like a totally different boat. Does anyone else have mylar sails? If so, how do you like them and what kind of problems have you had with them? I'm new to this type of sail material but from what i've read is the normal store sails dry and roll them instead of folding them. Anyway... i look forward to hearing any comments on the sails thx...greg

Mylar sails stretch a lot less than dacron will, so they generate more power for the same sail area. Of course they are more expensive (but that's not your problem). They also aren't as durable, but you knew that already. My advice....enjoy 'em! Peter

I race my H240 weekly and am in the process of getting quotes now on a new loose footed racing main. Most sail makers I have talked to tell me I will be able to carry full sail in 3-4 knots more than my stock sails. I'm installing a rigid vang and a cunningham this winter to assist in flattening the sail. The new sail will also have two reef points l lower than the 1 on the stock sail.

How goes it? I noticed you moved out of MH? or are you working on you boat again? I'm still looking to move to the east coast to do some sailing but havent had a chance with work. I did read one of your post about racing in the grand nationals? Need another crew member? I would be happy to join

I moved the boat to Titusville a couple of months ago. It's a little farther away from home but since I live down near Sea World it takes just as long as a drive to Lake Monroe. I haven't been sailing much because of work, but the weather's been pretty miserable anyway so I don't feel like I've missed much. You should drop by sometime and check the place out.
