So many possibilities.

If it is coming from the bowl, try this:

Yes, fresh water can do much the same thing, but not entirely and certainly not better. Even when I use fresh water I use the above treatment; it helps.

Other possibilities, not mentioned:
* Joker valve is shot.Doesn't take much.
* You're not flushing enough water each time.
* And I will repeat, vent is restricted.

A lot of good advice. A couple of comments:

KO is great but needs fresh air to work. Try the switch to Odorloss (as mentioned) which will work without fresh air. Peggy recommends it over KO when the vent might not be adequate.

Don't just tee a fresh water line into the head. Too much chance of contamination of your water. Holding the shower over the bowl to fill for the last flush works great and avoids any risk.

Flush enough before leaving the boat to get waste out of the hoses. Did your old system have a very short hose to the seacock that didn't need much flushing to empty it?
