My grill is on fire

I bought a new Magma grill last summer to replace my 15 year old one. I also went to Lowes and bought a grill thermometer and drilled a hole in the magma and installed it. I have had one bad experience with this new one when we had some high Ft ground beef and it caught on fire and I just had to smoother it out. I cooked a pork tenderloin today for 45 minutes and held 350 degrees with the thermometer. With my old one, I had off and blast furnace. This one is much better and easier to control. I didn’t know about the low flow valve. That would fix a lot of problems with these grills.
Had a package from Magma arrive last night. Low flow aperture for the regulator.
This could be the ticket!
Our Magma is single wall old school. Was lucky that conditions were calm after a storm rolled through late Sat pm - did not burn shrimp, meat, potato's, corn or b-fast sammi's. Sorry forgot a camera.
Think the wind is a contributing factor to our blow torch effect - need to keep the grill turned up to minimize blow outs.

I do have a great grill, Magma Party Size Kettle. It fits just right on the stern rail so I don’t have to remove it for the entire season.
My 10+ year old Magma Kettle made it through last year but barely. It needed a new burner, ring, inner liner, swiveling gas feed tube and grate. For all intense and purposes, a new grill. And a real good cleaning as well.
As a rule, buying the individual parts is more expensive or equal to purchasing a whole new grill. But this year, over the winter, I found Defender Marine actually had parts for it cheaper than a new grill. All my parts (all on sale items)came to about $150 and $5.95 shipping. A new grill was over $300. How great was that!
Now if only the weather would cooperate a little better around here.

Wow - had no idea that this was a thing. Both our Magmas (one single wall and one double wall) have been blowtorches. TT customer service and they sent the smallest screw in regulator orifaces but still very difficult to manage the flame. Pizza - no way possible. No mention of low volume regulators.
