My friends Mark and Vicki Hill are leaving the Northern most point of the Great Loop, Cheboygan Mich. in the "Blue Willow" , a 36' Grand Banks Trawler.

Here is the link to the blog, please feel free to join and follow them on their adventure.

He followed my Wife and I when we did the east side of the loop (Petoskey Mich. to New Smyrna Fl.) and has been dreaming of it ever since, now they are "out there".

Enjoy, Capt. Dean s/v Rubaiyat

I might like following your friends adventure, but, when I tried to subscribe to it I found out I don't have a RSS reader. I went to the apple store and there's about a million readers. How do I know which one? I like simple. But if anyone can Rx a reader for my Air book Mac or Mac book air or whatever it's called, I would appreciate it.

I believe you can get an add-on/extension for your web browser.

What is the "Montreal" route? Bypass the Hudson and go all the way to the St. Lawrence?

I've got a Great Loop map. It looks like instead of taking canals from the Hudson west through central New York into Lake Ontario, you may continue north through a lock system to the St. Lawrence in a couple of places near Montreal.

I wouldn't mind continuing up the coast and around Nova Scotia, but that is quite a ways off the path.

I looked up the map, it looks like you cut through the canals to Lake George then Lake Champlain. I'll have to follow the trip and see if I can't meet up as you pass through NY.
