Finally, the weather in Chicago is looking up and I was able to take my newly purchased H280 out on Lake Michigan this past weekend.
The Admiral went along, I am sure to see if I could really handle the boat single-handed (she did not help too much - just along for the sun and see if she could let me go alone ;-). Going to have to invest in better cockpit cushions so she doesn't want to use my settee cushions:naughty:.
I was happy with our 4.0 - 4.5 kts in 10-15 kts of wind for our rookie sail.
I was able to get out of the harbor OK, got the sail up and figured out how to use the reefing system, and got us back to the slip OK. Had some issues backing into my slip ( wanted to back it in so I could change the registration numbers on the other side). But got it in without hitting my neghbors newer H-33!
All in all, it was a great first sail for us rookies!
