My first production boat

The press announcement has been made about my first production boat design so, now, I can talk about it:

It's actually a co-design. Eric Sponberg designed the rig and the centerboard and rudder foils. I designed the hull, drew the lines for the cockpit according to the owner's hand sketches, and developed the centerboard actuating mechanism.

It's quite a departure from what I've been doing for the past couple of decades.

The contract was also just signed for the construction of my first traditional wood design in decades and the boat will be under construction in about a month. The Scandinavian Dory 18 hull is a scaled down version of the 22 foot wooden boat.

punish me if i am wrong but the mast and boom does look fragile?

"Elegant", I would say. The spars and rigging are all the other designer's department. I haven't even looked them over carefully but, given his experience, I would expect them to be perfectly adequate. They are carbon fiber and a traditionally rigged boat like this would have a free standing sprit rig with spruce spars that would be pretty light and delicate themselves. These spars should bend like fishing rods when overstressed.
