It's actually a co-design. Eric Sponberg designed the rig and the centerboard and rudder foils. I designed the hull, drew the lines for the cockpit according to the owner's hand sketches, and developed the centerboard actuating mechanism.
It's quite a departure from what I've been doing for the past couple of decades.
The contract was also just signed for the construction of my first traditional wood design in decades and the boat will be under construction in about a month. The Scandinavian Dory 18 hull is a scaled down version of the 22 foot wooden boat.
