Yeah, I spelled that right.. I didn't go round the world, I went around my first Island (Basswood) in the Apostle Island National Park system...

Also on my list of "firsts"... First wing N wing down wind several miles from Washburn to Bayfield...

First Sail in the rain...

And first VHF radio contact...Thanks Jackdaw...at least now I know my radio works, just gotta work on my radio "lingo" and protocol...(Does that mean I get to talk like a sailor...?)

Also saw my first Lake Superior "Fog" roll in....fortunately from the safety of the Marina Dock...

:D

Way to go!!! I remember my first big adventure, we thought wow we sailed 13 miles out around West Sister island in Lake Erie and back to our marina. It was only seven years ago. But we will never forget it. Hope you have many more.

That's great. Next time on w/w, tighten your vang to avoid the sail hitting the lower shroud, and bring the boom in with the mainsheet. With light winds you can safely keep it in. Otherwise, looks great.

I put in a new Raritan PHII head a few months ago. I hear ya! :) Not that we really needed to know...

Circumference

What did you use for a spell check?

Just noticed I hadden't even put the vang on yet in that pic.. I did have it on later and that did help keep sail off shroud...

I believe that you circumnavigated the island and a good job of it too.

That's my First Bait Tzu-Bacca the ShihTzu-ian Nap Hound...

Little Bugger is made of Velcro and stuck to my lap everywhere I go, so we got him a rainsuit so he could sit outside with me...

Also got him a custom fit "Outward Hound" PFD w/tether for when it gets "lumpy"...

If you had seen some of the posts when I was in the Jabsco rebuild stage..."Your wastiing your Time" "Your wasting your Money with that junk.." "Tear it out and put a new one in (raritin) " Even Peggy was somewat discouraging in my prospects...

So I'm feeling pretty dang good that my $50 Jabsco rebuild is doing just what it's supposed to do...
