5 ladies wet is about 3 dudes dry, and these guys were probably not too dry ha! But seriously, I'm impressed with all that spinnaker handling. Is that part of the answer? From what I could see, the Norse-, err, peoples, seemed content to just watch theirs...
Indeed. Faster. For any sail but for spinnakers in particular, trimming is a FULL TIME JOB. Ask anyone that's sailed with me, we never stop trimming. Where I race, if you're not trimming, you're losing.

I have been told that many women do a better job of spinnaker trimming than some men. And I was told the reason is that women actually pay attention to the sail while men get all distracted and look around at other stuff. I have taken this to heart, and try to stay glued to the chute and let the skipper look all around. Part of my strategy to be invited back as crew. :D

I thought it was: "If you ain't first, you're last." - Ricky Bobby

"Oh hell, Son, I was high that day. That doesn't make any sense at all, you can be second, third, fourth... hell you can even be fifth." - Reese Bobby from Talladega Nighs

My wife is better at sail trim than I am. It's somehow more intuitive for her, where I have to think about it. For me, it's hmm, does that jibsheet car need to move forward or aft, and I think about the geometry of triangles, and vectors (pull more down, or pull more aft), and work it out in my head. In the meantime, she's tacked the boat, moved the car, tacked back, and retrimmed.

Now if I could just get her not to be afraid of working the boat under power...

I knew of one sailboat skipper playing dirty tricks during race. He had his sexy bikini clad daughter sitting around at sugar scoop transom. Needless to say many a sailboat just can't seems to go fast enough to over take him. :D :D :D

Personally I'd take plain out-sailing him vs resorting to sexualizing my daughter. ;^)

Yeah, we'd teach our daughters to out-sail the guy, while appreciating his daughter! Respectfully, of course.
