Hello - I own a 95 Newport 326, which I love. However,l a couple of weeks ago she dismasted. I'm having great difficulty trying to figure out who were the manufacturers for the mast and spars. The manufacturer for the Newport sailboats was Catalina Yachts, who went out of business in 1996, and as far as I know they manufactured only six sailboats like mine. Mine is in great condition and I want to keep her. She is in Dana Point, CA. Does anybody know anything made the mast and spars, or have any suggestions? Thank you.

I don't have the answer for you but I am curious on how the dismasting came about.

I don't have all the details yet, but according to the statement of the party renting the boat, they had the sails reefed and the shroud wires snapped as doing a port tack. It's all so strange as the pictures with the fallen mast show the mast on the starboard side. I had the mast and the rigging serviced in October 2014 prior to the survey for the insurance company.

Check out Isomat in Rig Rite. The Rig-rite web site shows all the spar sections and lists boats that use the masts. They list sections NG37 & NG51 for "Capital" boats. You can actually check a variety of masts as the sections are drawn graphically. You may be able to find a match based on the dimensions and shape.
Your insurance will want a surveyor's report and you will too so that any other damage to standing rigging and hull may be found. The charterer is responsible for any deducible so this isn't supposed to cost you anything "out of pocket", hope it works that way.
The surveyor and/or rigger should be able to identify the mast and probably good to have a report from both as to damage and repair estimate.
The surveyor I used to use has retired and while I know a couple I'd avoid can't think of any I'd recommend right now. If you know Kenzie over at DC Yachts he may know of someone.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your insurance will cover all this for you and you can get a rigger to do all the work, but this will for sure be some big $$$.
I had a list of Spar manufacturers (not dealers) that are in California. Ballenger is one for sure, they are up near Monterey. If $$ becomes an issue the best deal is to find the correct mast section and buy their standard length. For example, I was looking into a new mast for my C22 and that section comes in a standard 27 foot length. I could go pick it up for $800 (maybe less if you bring cash). However, you have to do all your own work setting up your hardware/bedding or have a local rigger do it.
I had that list of spar makers and I think its in my office, but I am at home today. I could swear I had a major/well-know spar maker on that list who is in the greater LA area?

In the club documents online, states charterer (member) responsible for deductible. I'm on phone at boat, I'll get you better reference when I get home.
