I have several Multitools, and never seem to use them. They can do a lot of stuff, but none of it really well. I find it better to have a well stocked tool box/bag. Below would be a good start.
For me its Leatherman Wave (older version with fixed cross head screw driver). Don't like the newer version of Wave where screw driver bits can be changed.
I have worn a Wave for 16 years. Everyone knows I have it and asks for it all the time when we are working on things. My old original Leatherman saved two masts when pins came astray on the leeward side. It is hardly the tool you want to use for a serious project but it solves so many simple problems so fast.
Thanks guys. I have a garage full serious tools for anything I need to do on the cars or house. I have a toolbag at the boat. Sometimes you just need that handy pair of pliers, a screwdriver or some other simple tool to make a quick fix or adjustment. It's hard to put a price on that convenience, although I know it's not so much as the price of the titanium Leatherman
