muffler on my c-27.. I HATE IT !

I can't stand the pipe fitting "muffler" on my Catalina it broke once and I'm sure it will happen again....

Should i upgrade to a water lift setup? Where do i find info on installing one properly?? Is there a reason why one was not on the boat originally ?? Any info on how to make a water lift out there?

Or should i make something that matches the original out of lighter copper or stainless tubing ?

I'm home for the holidays and want to get this taken care of wile i have all the tools and materials to do it. Thanks =)

When I purchased my 1977 c-27 (I was at least the third owner) the exhaust piping had been replaced with custom welded stainless steel tube with a water injection tee a couple inches below the top of the bend (which you should have go as high as reasonable if you make one). I never had a problem with the exhaust in the 15 yrs I owned the boat. She had an atomic 4, raw water cooled, used on the lower Chesapeake bay.
