Hello SBO Members,
To those of you who are looking for a mid-winter adventure how about trying this......Go Muck About in the Everglades Swamp! Monday we went to visit the new owners of Breezin Up at their place of business in the Everglades. These wonderful people invited Eileen and me to go on a guided Swamp Walk with them out of the Clyde Butcher Gallery along the Tamiami Trail (aka the Original Alligator Alley). We had an exciting and informative 2 hour walk in water that ranged from ankle deep to waist deep. Our tour guides shared their knowledge of the flora and fauna in the swamp and discussed the environmental challenges we human beings are forcing onto the swamp ecosystem. I'll attach some pictures if possible. 31seahorse

Note: The alligators were less than 3 feet long and were lounging near the living quarters. Seems they are too smart to go sloshing around in the swamp!

Watch out for the pythons. They actually dine on the gators. And everything else for that matter. Walk softly and carry a big stick.

Thanks for the comments. We used Off and did in fact carry sticks! Mostly used them for balance while stepping over roots that were under water. The cooler weather made us feel more at ease concerning insects or animals.
