As a novice I had opportunity to take Miss Lisa our 1986 Hunter 23.5 on Lewis and Clark Lake in South Dakota. The sailing was great the first day winds averaging 8-12 knots. We spent the night aboard and anchoring advices from the forum kept up safe. On the final day we had sailed about 15 miles from the marina and the further we went the stronger the winds until they were peeking 26 knots. We were heeling a constant 25 degrees or so and I was NOT comfortable! I replaced the standard jib with the storm jib, reefed the mail and headed back the marina. Miss Lisa straightened right out and was once again FUN to sail. Thank you all for the advice that helped me prolong a wonderful sailing vacation.
