Has anyone moved the traveler on a C25 from the transom to the companionway? I am thinking of moving it to allow moving of the bimini away from the companionway to allow easier access forward. Any ideas?
The Catalina 250 has the traveler in front of the companionway hatch. In my opinion, it is rather inconvenient for entry in to the companionway, but that being said it may be a more effective way of rigging the boom.I am not sure which is best.
I have a C25 standard rig that is mid boom sheeted. There is no traveler. There are two fiddle blocks with cam locks on each side of the companionway. They are mounted to the bulkhead just below the teak trim. Seems to work well. If you would like, I can send a photo when we get home from our travels in mid October. This system works well and I prefer it to the aft traveler. Bimini is clear of things and I leave it up.
