Anyone out there have any favorite spots our local knowledge to share about the area? I have a slip for my boat at Ben's Lake Marina and will be moving it out there in a couple of weeks. I would like to say I am sailing it over but there is just not enough time. Looking forward to what y'all have to offer. BTW where has John Bastien been? I know he used to live there.

Have Time Share in Ft. Walton Beach

We have sailed our Grumman canoe on the Intercoastal behind the Marina Bay Resort. Our draft was only about 3 inches with the lee boards up though. Enjoy! Rip Edmundson Milwaukee, WI rip@edmundson.com

Welcome to the Emerald Coast !

You have to go to Crab Island! It's not realy an island, but a sandbar at the Destin bridge. Our favorite places are Destin Harbor, Baytown Marina(Sandestin Resort--FIRST CLASS!)and ICW Marker 51. Marker 51 is a great overnight spot to anchor between an island and Eglin to safely spend the night out of the barge traffic. I don't know if it is true, but I've been told Choctawhatchee Bay is in the top 10 sailing in the U.S. It is in the top 5 in my book. Great seabreeze every day! Keep an eye to the sky for those pop-up summer thunderstorms. They can pack brief 30 to 40MPH winds!! Have fun, Bob S/V H31 Lady Di II
