Moving to Ft. Lauderdale.

Any fellow sailors out there that live in the Ft. Lauderdale area? I'm towing my boat from Montana to Florida. Looking for advice on dry storage and/or marinas. Also wondering about bottom painting. Thanks

Not sure. I'm flying down tomorrow for two job interviews and to look for apartments.

Only real sailing is to go out the inlet into the ocean.

The problem with Ft. Lauderdale is that you will be a bit away from sailing waters. Perhaps a 30 minute motoring ride in canals and the Intra Coastal may deliver you into the Open Atlantic Ocean and the Gulfstream current. To get down into the protected waters of Biscayne Bay will be a while longer. Find a storage place for the boat on the trailer and just tow it down to Homestead or the Florida Keys when you want to sail. Marinas in Biscayne Bay are mostly full and expensive.
