Moving position of main sheet traveller??

People who know me say I worry to much

I would like to move my main sheet traveller forward 8 inches or so. . .I want it to clear the doger that came with the boat better. You can see from the image where it is and where it would end up about. I dunno, just want to make sure I'm not introducing some new weird bending forced into anything

I think your idea is reasonable. You may want to consider moving it even a little further forward so that you dodger window has a reasonable slant. Nothing worse looking than a dodger with a near verticle window. While you are at it, move the two deck top winches back and install some rope clutches in front but behind the dodger. That way you have all your controls accessible from the cockpit.

Like Hutch says... I would be more concerened about those winches on the cabin in front of the traveller. Can those be relocated? With a dodger up those would be in a very inconvenient place... nearly inaccessible.

You might relocate the aft boom bale to a forward position, thus maintaining the integrity of the array. i.e. the middle strand would pull straight down, as it does in the old configuration.

Groovy. Yeah, moving around all the hardware up there is on the list for spring. . .move the clutches back, move the winches back and out a bit, and remove the cleats. . .
