The instrument panel on my O'Day 28 is located at the level of my ankles and is hard to see. I would like to raise it to seat level and add a tach/hourmeter which it does not have. Two questions: does anyone make a coaming box (with or without lid) that would fit the old cutout, and how do I find and install a tach/hourmeter. All of the coaming boxes I have found seem to be a few standard sizes, and I have not seen a low RPM (4000)tach with hourmeter for sale in any of the common catalogs. Do the sending units attach to the wiring somewhere? Thanks for any help you can give me. Wayne

Re Tack ... check your alternator for an AC

terminal ... that will drive a standard {AC} diesel tack you can get from WM or elsewhere. Tack with hour meter is something else. might be better to do two meters. On my 272LE I had to move the panel to behind the cockpit window in front of the wheel ... nothing as bad as standing at the wheel and having to bend over to look at the meters through your legs. With a tiller that position was OK, but when they added the wheel ... it just didn't work. Vic "Seven"
