Has anyone moved the engine controls from near the deck in the cockpit on the port side to the pedistal--How involved a job is it. any help would be appreciated---
Have you picked out a control for the throttle and shifter yet? I have thought about this a bit, I don't know exactly how I would do it. It is very inconvienent to shift and throttle with my feet while getting into the slip.
There are two push/pull cables that could be reused if you had rods to extend down through the cockpit floor. If you wanted to replace them, they are about $120 each.
What year is your C30? Do you have any pics of your current binnacle and pedastal?
The right way to do it would be to buy new longer cables and run them through the pedastal or the grab rail in front of the pedastal.
The biggest problem I see is I haven't seen a suitable retrofit control box for the shifter and the throttle that would fit on the pedastal.
checking out Catalina Direct's website.. They have the exact equipemnt for this upgrade, whether you have a diesel or A4... but as said before, not a cheap change out.....
Edson has complete info on that, but I have never had trouble working the levers with my feet, since its only a few times a TRIP that you change anything. I can easily flip the fuel and gear shift with no trouble, particularly compared to moving them to the pedestal.
