Moving boat for improvements

I am buying a 25' sailboat located about 100 miles away. Boat needs work and does not include a trailer. My question is: Can you typically rent a sailboat trailer to move the boat, then, place the boat on a cradle for the repairs? I plan to spend most likely the rest of the year/season doing repairs. Once done, I do not plan to trailer it, so I would not see a reason to "buy" a trailer.Is it even possible to move a boat from trailer to cradle?Does anyone know of places in SE MICH that rents trailers?Many thanks!!!Mike

For you, the best plan might be to have a cradle made up for the boat, then load boat and cradle on a flatbed trailer for moving. You can probably rent a flatbed from someone in your area. However, it is awfully nice to have your own trailer and if you can find a used one for a decent price, it will usually sell for the same figure years later.

I have seen allot of these boats and you could ask the owner of one at a marina if you can borrow theirs. You can rent the dry dock poles at a dry dock marina with a little calling around you should be able to solve this with no problem. But I agree with the last, buy a used one, you will want to move it again, and if you plan on keeping it in the water you will need to hall it out yearly 300-600$ clean the bottom monthly 100$ paint the bottom 300$ and after a while you will have bought a new trailer. With a trailer you do none of this and you can keep it on the trailer rigged at the marina and they will drop it in for you Plus its selling point aren’t you looking for one. Or else why by a trailerable.
