Move Control Panel & Engine Controls

I have a 1981 Catalina 30 and would like to move both the control panel and the engine controls to a higher position. I have a pedestal but would be happy if I could just see the control panel and reach the engine controls with out standing on my head. Can I have some comments on how to do this and relocation areas? I've started moving my tach, oil pressure and water temp guages to the port bulkhead. With a cover inside over the dish rack it will look OK when finished. The temp and pres guages are just a little deeper than the bulkhead is thick so there is not a lot of material to cover.

Moving the engine control panel

I moved the engine control panel on my 1984 C30 a few years back and it was worth every dime. Catalina has a mod. kit for that but I would have to look back in my records for the specifics. It basically moves all controls except the engine cutoff handle to the upper port side where they are within reach and full view. I believe that the mod also changes the the Ammeter to a voltmeter which is an improvement also. If you would like kit specifics just indicate and I will look them up. Else call Catalina and they will probably refer you to Seaward Products ((562)699-7997)whom I believe builds the kits for them.
