Mounting Torqeedo XP on Mac 26C

If anyone has experience with mounting a Torqeedo XP, perhaps you can share your experience.
As you may be able to see from the picture, the tiller on the Torqeedo does not fold up enough to allow the motor to be pulled completely out of the water. The dealer suggested that a mount like the one would work. Before I order one I wanted to make sure it will work, so if you have suggestions / experience please respond.
Other than that, the motor performs well - we were able to move along at 5 knots.
PS- after we get this mounted correctly and have used it for a while we will share our experience.

Finally an update - we had to pull Gypsy to do the work so we could get the motor mounted.
The first attempt was the motor mount shown in the picture above. As you might have guessed it ended up with the motor too far out of the motor well to be able to reach the tiller handle.

So we went next with a "Jack Plate" we picked up from Amazon. I'm using varnished plywood to test the concept before purchasing HDPE for the final product. The plywood is nominal 3/4" and just gives enough clearance. I'll use 1" thick HDPE for the final product.



The height above the transom is about 5", which gives us 21" to the waterline. I'll adjust the jack plate down an inch or so to get the prop a little further down in the water:

Here's a picture of the motor in the up position. By the way, the battery is a bit tricky to insert, but once inserted the motor is better balanced and is easier to move up and down.


As I mentioned above, at full throttle you can expect 5 kts on a 26C. Half throttle gives you 4 kts with almost twice the range.
And in hot weather the battery operating system may reduce power output to extend battery life.
