I have an older depth finder on my boat that is working. I want to install a new gps/sonar plotter and keep the old depth finder working as a backup. If I mount the new transducer close to the old one am I going to get false readings? Thanks Norm

Probably not if you don't run them at the same

time.

No problemo

There should be no interference between your old and new tranducers for your depth readings. I would mount them side by side rather than one if front of the other for turbulence reasons. If they are mounted in vastly different locations, no problem either. Just mount them according to the manufacture's recommendations for best results.
