Mounting speed/wind/depth on sea hatch?

Hi,
We own a hunter 356, 2002..We bought the bought in the fall and are getting it ready for the spring. We recently purchased new electronics for the boat. The wind/speed/depth (3) package we wanted to mount on front of our sea hatch. The installer said the sea hatch we have right now would not work and that possibly we can buy a new hatch from Hunter. We considered mounting them on the rail mounted into a pod above the chart plotter, however it would be too high.
Has anyone ever replaced their sea hatch? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Congrats on buying a great boat. I assume your referring to the sea-hood over the companionway. I don`t know why the installer told you that. I have seen other H356 with instruments mounted there. I would get another opinion. We sail our H356 out of Crisfield,Md.
