Mounting solar panel on the coach roof

How do you measure the current flow? I can check the voltage easily
enough but I am unsure how to use the multimeter to check how many
amps are being produced..... I should know how to do this!!!

Easiest is with a clamp meter in amp mode - just clamp it over either the
positive or negative wire, not both.

If you don't have a clamp meter any multimeter that will measure amperage
will work. You will have to remove a connection and place the meter inline
so the current runs through it.

Cheers Brian.. so I have to "break into" the circuit and use the
multimeter in the "gap"? That makes sense... just looking at the
meter it appears that I will have to unplug one of the probes and put
it into a different socket.. thanks for the help.

It will vary a bit depending on the meter. Non clamp meters are usually
limited to 10 amps measurement.

My charge controller instructions say to connect battery terminals first and panel second. Keep that in mind as you measure current.

Yes I have and I'm more in depth and totally interested! I'm up to do it as missionary work of an open mind! Just need advice and feedback....
