Hi there was wondering if any body had a drawing or details of the deck/coachhouse of a 323. I want to add some clutches, a winch and rope organisers to the starbord side for spinnaker controls.

Does the boat have pieces of aluminium or stainless laid in the fibre glass or does one have to cut a hole in the internal liner to place backing plates on fittings

I have factory installed starboard winch on my 323 and I believe it was bolted through the cabin headliner with large washers backing up the bolts.
I'm a thousand miles away from my boat right now, so I cannot really verify that. I did install additional rope clutches. They are definitely bolted through the headliner. As I recall everything has acorn nuts on the bolts so there are no sharp bolt ends to hit one's scalp.

Having recently toured the Beneteau factory and watched the assembly process, I would be fairly certain that there is added coring of one sort or another under those mounting points.

I have the optional factory stbd winch. I added clutches and now have 6 on each side of the cabin top. The first clutches I added on the stbd side, I found a slight (1/4"?) space between deck and headliner. I told myself I would sometime go back in there with some epoxy, but have not yet done so. MAYBE(?) under the factory clutch there is a filler, but not over where I added holes.

On the port side there is the overhead removable panel that gives you access to the bottom of the deck pan. Fender washers there seem to have held up so far.

In the head ceiling, when I added the clutches, I put a large eye strap between 2 of the bolts to allow a place for coat hangers. At night I bring in one of the solar LED lanterns and hang it for a night light.

Thanks for your insight guy's, the picture I have attached give some insight to what I have on the Port side but no access panel on the starboard side.

So looks like i will have to drill holes through the cabin top in the head.

Another question...where do I find the hull number?

Thanks

HIN Number

hull number should be on th upper corner of the transom starboard side...
Hi Doug I climbed in the starboard lazerete and could not find the number or externally on the transom. Any other idea's. The surveyor came up with a number that begins as follows FR-BEN*****. Does this mean the boat was built in France and maybe the HIN number is else where. I will email him and ask him where he found it.

Thanks for your help

On my 2006 the number is also under the engine steps- maybe under the battery box? MAybe not though, if French-built.

Hey I found it, it's on the aft starboard side just below the toe rail.

USBEYN****J405. So looks like built in the US model year 2005

Thanks every one.

Don't know where the surveyor got his number from, wonder what else he missed!!!!!!!!!!!!
