I have a transom mounted transducer from my old boat but no transom as such on the new one. Is there a way I can glue the transducer inside the hull and shoot through the hull to get depth? Ive read several forums on this but want to be sure it'll work before I screw up a perfectly good transducer. Hayden

Hayden, Try covering to "optic" with something

such as KY jelly and place the transducer against the hull and see if it will shoot through. If it does then wash out the jelly and glue in place. Be certain that the glue does'nt melt the transducer optic. Or whatever you call that little area that costs so much. Ray S/V Speedy

A faster way to check it is to fill a ziplock baggie with water and the transducer and hold it against the hull where you want to locate it. Turn on the unit and check for measurement.Be careful to turn the unit on and off when it is against the hull. My unit said it could damage the unit if not in water or in contact with water. Good luck. I have had my transducer glued to the hull for a year and it works great. Carl
